I've been asked by a customer to let members know about an Esprit SE for sale.
Car has just been to Chris Foulds for an appraisal of work needed to put it back on the road.
Bodywork and interior is very good, but the mechanical are in need of some work that makes it an expensive repair if done in a garage, and more than the owner wants to spend. However, the work is easily within scope of somebody who likes the spannering themselves.
Foulds have estimated a repair bill of 5-7k which includes their labour. As far as the owner knows there is only one broken part on the suspension that can be sourced.
The car has just had a timing belt(chain?) changed.
Offers around £10,000.

Not had a message.
I've known on the excel forum it to take a while but never more than a few hours.

Steve an appraisal by Chris Foulds that in its self is enough to put me off. Did it start after Fioulds h
ad touched it
No they never attempted to get it running. The owner stopped any ongoing work due to the rising costs. The owner can no longer do the work himself and to pay for garage labour was prohibitive, which is where the opportunity of a bargain comes from for someone able to do some mechanics.
So I took it back and then spent nearly 2 hours trying to get it back into his garage with a crooked approach, a slightly binding rear brake and only a couple of inches clearance through the garage door.
-- It was bloody hot that day too!
