Car: Lotus Europa, Lotus Elan, Lotus Excel se

1989 Lotus Excel SE. I have 3 Lotus and I just do not have time to use them as they should be used.
I have owned the car for 7 years and during that period, apart from servicing I have undertaken the following
1)Head Lamp upgrade
2) New Radiator
3) New cooling Fans
4) New cooling fan Housing
5) New Power steering Pump
6) New Power Steering Pump Reservoir
7) New Header Tank
8) New Window Frames
9) New Door Spars
10) New door Seals including the Esprit Window frame seal
11) Front seats re covered in Leather
12) New Rear Shock Absorbers
13) New Fuel Pump
14) New centre part of exhaust, Stainless Steel
15) New Front Wheel Bearings

The car has just had a service with a Lotus specialist which included
New front tyres
tracking
new cam belt and bearing
new auxiliary belts
New gear box mount

The car has covered 76317 miles, its booked in for its next MOT on the 18th August. The car is not a trailer queen but could be a lady in waiting. What would it benefit from, a new head lining and the dash panels re veneering. Back tyres are very good. I am looking for 9k for the car. I will post more photographs during the week. You can contact me at [email protected] or 07411488103, thanks Stuart Gledhill

Good morning sir, I probably have enough bits in the shed to build one. Im taking my time, there are so many idiots on the classic car scene especially on the dedicated elan site. I listed that it had a new frame, typical question, "does it have matching numbers". I think the market for classic lotus has shrunk, the people who had these are now a lot older you have a far greater market for fast fords and the like.

Also from the anorak squad " do you have any photographs underneath the car" mmmmm let me think..... ah yeas there in the babies christening book
"do you have any photographs of how close the doors shut" ahhhhh tricky one old boy, one moment, yes here we are I have been using them as book markers
" the tc special is that the one with the Renault engine" It could be sir , I've never been able to find it, there is just a spare wheel where the engine should be
"how much does a service cost" would that be a wedding or a funeral sir

These people need to just buy a Fiat 500, a new one, The pros and cons of supposed classic Lotus ownership

Richard never ever try and sell what is called a classic Lotus, no one wants them anymore and those that do have escaped from some dark place. They have defiantly had their day, you seldom see anybody under 50 driving one. Now start the search for a decent Elise.
